O U R C O R E V A L U E S

Bridge Community Church is a nondenominational church with a rich history and deep roots in the City of Orange. As a church, we believe God has called us to particular values and expressions of our faith. Bridges core values are:

01_Word.jpg

We see God’s Word as both timely and timeless truth. We value the Bible as the inspired Word of God, a lamp to our feet and light to our path. We value the teaching, preaching and most of all obedience to God’s Word. (Psalm 119)

03_People.jpg

We see all people with tremendous, absolute value as individuals created in the image of God. We long to see those who have yet to experience salvation reconciled to God.(Genesis 1:27)

02_Presence.jpg

We value real, dynamic and abiding relationship with God. The Bible teaches that God is knowable and communicates with His people. His presence is made known to us through the movement of the Holy Spirit. His presence can manifest in an overwhelming sense of awe, supernatural comfort, peace and joy and also through the conviction of sin and hunger for holiness. We see His presence as a tangible, real, experience of relationship with God who communicates to His people. (Psalm 16:11, Acts 3:20-21, Matthew 5:8, 2 Peter 3:9)

04_Mission.jpg

God’s Mission can be summed up in the familiar passage of scripture, John 3:16. The mission is to be faithful witnesses of His salvation offered through Jesus Christ and the invitation to participate in His Kingdom work.  (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8)

We believe that God has called us to uniquely express our love for God and love for our neighbors in our time and place and becoming people shaped by practicing:

Bridge-Practicing_Hospitality.jpg

We value the spiritual gift of hospitality and seek out opportunities to practice it often.  This means creating environments where people are thought of, cared for and made to feel welcomed. (Romans 12:13)

Bridge-Practicing_Transparency.jpg

We value an honest and open environment where people have access to leadership, can ask questions and receive clear answers.  Transparency does not mean perfection from leadership or our church family, it is about honesty and accountability in all areas of life and ministry. (Philippians 1:27)

Bridge-Practicing_Generosity.jpg

We value freely giving of our time, talents and treasures as worship unto the Lord. We see generosity as a joyful expression of worship to a faithful and lavishing God.  (Romans 12:1, Matthew 6:19-2)

Bridge-Practicing_Safety.jpg

We value environments of both physical and spiritual safety. We are intentional about attending to the safety of those present with security systems in place. We also value an environment where, by His grace, the Word of God is preached with integrity and historical accuracy, never as a manipulative tool to draw a crowd or coerced response.  (Psalm 121)

Bridge-Practicing_Authenticity.jpg

We value the diversity of gifts represented in the body of Christ. This means we encourage people to function in the way that God created them, free from the pressure to conform to anything or anyone but Jesus.  (Revelation 7:9, Romans 8:29)

Bridge-Practicing_Risk.jpg

We believe that in order to live a life of faith you must be willing to take risks. We value an environment where it is safe for people to take risks as they grow in their faith. Our risk value is an intentional effort to obey the leading of the Holy Spirit despite circumstances, popular opinion or cultural norms. (Galatians 6:25)
